Echolizer
What is an equalizer?

Echolizer is a video analysis software that runs on Windows.

It was developed to analyze "movement" from video files and measure the speed and direction of movement of any area (region of interest, ROI) in the video. It can analyze movement in any video, but below we will explain Echolizer using the analysis of ultrasound echo images as an example.
*Echolizer is not a medical device and is not intended for clinical diagnosis, treatment, or prevention. Please use it for research or education purposes.
* Operates on Windows 7 or later. Mac and tablet versions are not available for sale.

What you can do with Echolizer ver.1

  • Importing and manipulating videos - File formats: WMV, MPEG4, AVI
    -Rotate and move videos
  • Set joint area (ROI) - Rectangle, ellipse, parallelogram - Up to 6 locations - Display grid to set precise position of ROI
  • Visualize object movement - Display by arrow color or length - Display arrows for all points of interest or one arrow for the average value of ROI - Export to video
  • Quantify the moving speed and direction (angle relative to the horizon) of objects within each ROI. Output CSV files. Analyze the average speed and moving direction for each ROI.
  • Video comparison, comparison of two videos superimposed, comparison of two videos arranged side by side

Function introduction (user manual)

  • Installation Instructions
    1. Installation: Select setup from the installation file and install the program.
    2. Click Help > About Version > Registration to display the ID.
    3. Send your ID to GLAB
    4. GLAB will send you a passcode
    5. Enter your passcode in the box below your ID.
6.Activation complete (This allows you to use the copy and data saving functions)
  • Video file analysis
    1. Loading video files

Start Echolizer. When the screen appears, switch to the OpticalFlow 1 screen. Click New Project from the menu and select the video file to analyze.

    2. Setting the scale

Enter the number of pixels per mm in Scale Setting. If there is a scale in the video, this will be done automatically.

    3. Specifying ROI (Region of Interest)

When analyzing a specific area in an image, you can narrow down the analysis range by specifying an ROI. It is also possible to measure the average speed and average angle in ROI units. Up to six ROIs can be specified.

    4. Analysis

The moving speed and moving angle are analyzed using OpticalFlow's FarneBack method.
You can analyze just one frame or the entire video (analysis range). Select any row in the frame list on the left to analyze it.
The analysis results are plotted on the image as arrows showing the moving speed and moving angle. The average speed and variance are displayed in the selected row.
Click Calculate All to automatically analyze the entire video.

Displays the measurement results for each ROI.

    5. CSV output of measurement results, video output of analysis images

Once the measurement is complete, output the measurement values and analysis video. Select Export CSV from the menu to output the measurement values to a CSV file. Then, select Export Video from the menu to output a video of the analysis image.
  • Analysis of two video files

Press the Positioning button to set any two points. This allows you to compare two videos by overlaying them in the same positional relationship. By setting two points on a bone, the two ultrasound videos will move to a position where those two points overlap. This allows you to overlay two images based on the position of the bone when comparing videos taken with ultrasound of the same part of the body.

If you want to adjust the image position or angle more precisely, you can align the image precisely on the Positioning screen. The Optical Flow 1 video is displayed in red, and the Optical Flow 2 video in blue.
  • CSV files There are four CSV files that are output.
